Rest, Presence, and Creating with God

A Reminder to Slow Down
In a world that is always moving, it is easy to miss what has never changed. God is present. The question is, are we?
Psalm 46:10 says “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Rest creates the space for us to become aware of Him again. Not because He was ever absent, but because we were distracted.
In Genesis, God modeled rest after creation. “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested…” - Genesis 2:2
God did not rest because He was tired, but because His work was complete. Rest is part of His design, not a sign of weakness.
Resting God’s way is not laziness. It is an invitation into intimacy with Him.
We see this again in Elijah’s story in 1 Kings 19. When Elijah was exhausted and overwhelmed, God did not give him more tasks. He gave him food and a word. God sustained him physically and spiritually.
Jesus confirms this in Matthew 4:4: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
God meets us in our rest with provision. He comes with everything we need, both food and water, physically and spiritually, bringing renewal, strength, and restoration.
Psalm 23 shows this beautifully: “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.”
At Be Glory Co., this is what we create for. Our Christian jewelry reminds you of your identity in Christ, and our Paint the Word kits invite you into a deeper place of rest and encounter.
As you create, you slow down. You listen. You become aware of God’s presence. This is more than art. It is a moment with Him.
So take a pause in this noisy world.
Create with Abba.
And rest in the One who has always been with you.
